  1. Today, I bought $50.04 worth of groceries for $31.26 at Wal-mart using your tips on price matching & several coupons with the links you posted. I was disappointed that they would not match Kroger for meat prices even though I had the sale ad in hand. Guess I will be buying those items at the "other" Wal-mart store. Thanks for the great tips. I look forward to your posts each day!

  2. Sometimes it can be a little tricky ad-matching meat at Walmart. According to Wal-marts policy, if you do have the competitor ad with you, then you should have no problem ad-matching an item. Sometimes with Kroger however, I have found that their meat is listed differently than what is sold at Walmart. Such as: Kroger may have "semi-boneless" ribeye steak on sale and Walmart only sells the totally boneless varieties. In this case, the cashier could deny you the ad-match, though many would allow it since Walmart does not carry that type. Unfortunately, it is usually all up to your cashiers discretion. To be honest with you, their are certain cashiers that I absolutely will not check out with because they make ad matching so difficult. I have found that the cashiers that are the most ad-match friendly are young people, and men. For some reason some of the women who have worked at the store for 20-some years feel like it is their personal obligation to protect the store, and almost act like you are trying to steal from them personally!

  3. It did take me just a little longer at the store to find the exact product I was looking for and I did have a few product that they just didnt carry. However, I almost saved a $1 a minute for the extra time it took so I feel it was well worth the effort.

  4. I have never had big success at Walmart, but you did great.

I would like to invite you to link up your savings at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free , it’s a great place to connect with other frugalistas. You can win a free ad space too!
